How would a Democratic Primary in 2008 have gone with these candidates?

Senator Russ Feingold (WI)
Senator Evan Bayh (IN)
Governor John Lynch (NH)
Governor Ted Strickland (OH)
Fmr. Governor Mark Warner (VA)
Fmr. Governor Tom Vilsack (IA)

You mean that if these were the candidates, then who would win the primaries?

Yes.  Instead of Clinton, Obama, etc., we have these people.

Interesting primary.

The results:

Senator Russ Feingold (WI)  -- dark red
Senator Evan Bayh (IN) -- pink
Governor John Lynch (NH)  -- green
Governor Ted Strickland (OH)  -- light blue
Fmr. Governor Mark Warner (VA)  --dark blue
Fmr. Governor Tom Vilsack (IA)  -- grey

Feingold competes well in most of the big states, but Warner sweeps the rest of the country after the early primaries.

You read my mind...
Judging by these forums, you'd think he was God.

I don't have any particular love for Mark Warner; in fact, I like Feingold a lot better and would vote for him over Warner in a primary any day.  But these things aren't supposed to be about who I want to win, but who I think would win.  I just tend to think Warner would be an appealing candidate in a primary race and a general election.  What makes you guys think he would do poorly, and, who do you think would beat him on the list above and where?

Damn it. I had a big timeline typed up, but the Atlas ate it. Anyway, red is Feingold, blue is Warner, green is Lynch and yellow is Harkin. Warner drops out after losing Pennsylvania, so all remaining states go to Feingold. (Bayh and Strickland drop out after failing to win Michigan, Harkin after Florida, although why he stayed in so long is a mystery since he was irrelevant everywhere except Iowa, which only he and Feingold seriously contested. Lynch drops out after winning Maine, going out on a winning note.)

Verily, I think you mean Vilsack, not Harkin.

Dark Red is Warner
Grey is Vilsack
Blue is Lynch
Green is Feingold
