In CBS's "flash" post bebate poll, the following was reported:

Pre-Debate Voting Preference:

Kerry 31
Bush 19
Someone else 6
Depends 46

ie - a Kerry "lead" of 12%

(why a panel of "uncommitted" voters has almost half with a voting preference is an issue you will have to raise with CBS)

Now on to the post debate...

Post-Debate
Kerry 38
Bush 31
Someone else 5
Depends 26

...

The Skinny...?

Bush gained 12%, Kerry just 7%...

One more persepective... Wink

Anybody found that Newsweek poll yet...?

If you put all of them together, the main message that I see emerging from most of these polls coming immediately after the debate is, "We really have no idea what the race is like at the moment."

I trust a CBS poll only slightly farther than I trust the Princeton Associates poll.

On style, Bush really messed up.  On substance, Kerry really messed up.

Don't see much change.

The Kerry had style but Bush had content spin is just stupid.  I'm not saying your stupid.  The spin is and I don't think it has traction because it ranks of spin.  Bush did not have content.  Bush didn't bring anything to the debate but that's ok because his job is reall really hard and instead of prepping for the debate he was visiting victims of the hurricane.

Good to see you can cut him some slack.

I agree, Bush didn't have much "content" other than on North Korea.  Kerry, however, had a lot of negative content, or points that a majority of Americans would disagree with (i.e. the "global test").  Thus, Bush wins on content.
