Hated it of course.

I was very, extremely out of place.  That said I was also in my mileu and no doubt the one that defined me. 

To be 'rich' in a poor place, and 'smart' in a stupid one was an absurd experience.  I've had nothing but fun since, at least when I have any money, but I'm not really relevant to the great wide world.
