Sensei probably just misses out on the Top 5 because of his Humble activities. Smid and The Mikado are up there for sure though.

I am shocked, shocked, I tell you that I am not on this list.  What happened?

Or maybe I am operating under heavy delusions around here. Smiley

1) Mikado
2) Rin-Chan
3) Smid
4) JSojourner
5) Inks

Flattered as I am, I don't belong at the top of the list.

Mine would go something like:

Jsoj
Rinchan
Torie
Dead0man (is there anyone here besides Einzige who dislikes him?)
Smid

Sadly, I can think of no moderators who fit on that list, though MasterJedi, Alcon, and non-election-year Supersoulty come close.

Honorable mention to Lunar.

Alcon is a well known power-mad fascist, Mikado. Everyone knows this.

In a couple of cases, it has a long history, sort of like the Hatfields and the McCoys. Smiley

He's very snobby, does the Moderate Hero routine (mixed in with some "I'm smarter than you") and takes out his personal grudges with certain people by deleting certain things he dislikes on "his board" while allowing other controversial items.

With the exception of the Rin-Chan types, who treat this as a place to mingle and share a glass of chardonnay (nothing wrong with that)....Why would anyone be flattered to be on this list?

There's a lot of posters who don't even comment much on political issues, more procedural stuff.  muon2, RBH and jimrtex.  Smid is definitely up there, being consistently respectful and kind; and Joe is pretty equal-opportunity.  Then there's a lot of more opinion-vocal posters that aren't controversial because of how they present themselves -- Lunar (mostly Tongue), Torie, The Mikado, Paul.

Even guys with strong, outward opinions, but present things without taking themselves or their views too seriously, like dead0man, are pretty "uncontroversial."  I don't think it's about being a doormat.

Being a Moderate Hero (what you talk about at the end) would result in more controversy than taking strong opinions like you mention.

What is the "official" forum definition of "Moderate Hero" again?  How does one manage to be at once moderate, but not a "Moderate Hero?"

Examples of evidence of Moderate Heroism is always taking the most centrist position on very nuanced issues, having inconsistent views on similiar issues, or defending or even arguing with talking points of the other side in an attempt to look "open-minded", or frequent token endorsements of candidates on the other party even when those candidates do not clearly better represent their views (like Alcon and McCain or benconstine's continued love affair with Specter despite it now being obvious beyond doubt Specter is nothing more than a cheap political opportunist.)

Who could possibly like Dead0man?

First of all, he's from Nebraska
AND he takes himself WAY too seriously

He's obviously just a yellow hack.j/k
