And I have to admit -- (I know this will get me flamed) --  Eyes Wide Shut has really grown on me.

Nothing to be ashamed of.
I liked it from the beginning.

My only complaint was that I wanted to know more about the secret group...I always thought that was more interesting than the Tom Cruise character's vacillation between kinky fidelity and kinky infidelity.  And I do think he ended up making the right choose...particularly given Nicole Kidman's fine ass everything.  (Sorry, BRTD!)

Still, the group is intriguing.  Do they elect officers?  Do they have a secret handshake?  Is there a grand poo-pah?  ;-)

You should know by now that Kubrick never liked too much exposition. And the group was after all a McGuffin. It was used as an excuse in order for us to see into the psyche of Cruise's character.

Ya, I just find secret societies and conspiracies a source of great entertainment.  Precisely because they are NOT real.  (Well, you know -- aside from the Jewish bankers who are colluding with President Obama and all the practioners of Satanism to take over the world.)

((A little something for our pal, Coburn, there...))

WHo was that star of the late 50s and 1960s who was rather thin.. what was his name.. died fairly young I think... very big star.. serious actor..

Euh... James Dean??

Haha, no.. this guy lived to be like 40 or so I think..  I think he was supposed to be bisexual like Dean though..

Damn, now that I've started thinking of movies to include, I can't stop. 10-15 is too short for a list of great would-see-again-any-day movies, too long for just the absolutely greatest would-see-again-any-day-every-day ones.

And I too can't for the life of me think of the title of a weird but impressive movie from ca. the late 90s that I've only seen once but never forgotten right now. Sad
