No, unless his wife insists upon it (would BRTD rather dump his wife than move to a burb?), or the public schools in the city are uniformly awful, and BRTD has children. I don't think BRTD would sacrifice his kids to make an ideological point.

Frankly, I would prefer to live in LA, SF or Manhattan, or on the near north side of Chicago, in a more perfect life. Seattle or Portland would not be bad either.

Nope. Suburbs are pretty much the only thing BRTD and I are gauranteed to agree upon, and neither of us is likely to live in the suburbs. That said, I could quite happily live in a country town over an urban slum.
