A lot of Republicans don't like Romney. If Sandford had Romney's recognition, he would blow Romney out of the water. If it's between the two of them, Sandford would have the required recognition. It's not rocket science.

Sanford is less popular than Obama in South Carolina, where Obama hasn't done particularyl well.

No chance.
