If John Murtha and Charlie Rangel are still at the top...this is small pataters

Again, I repeat.  Aren't these two cats in far more hot water? and they're still in power

I'm sure you've all seen the political whirlwind she's trapped in.  It's a credibility issue and she'll become a liability to her caucus.  Speaker Hoyer by 2010?

Concentrate and ask again.

Murtha and Rangel are in more hot water from a legal perspective but Nancy's political drama is far more compelling and has already garnered infinitely more attention from the press.  It's a credibility/leadership issue rather than a legal one.  Plus if Murtha or Rangel were ever Speaker while their scandals were unfolding they'd likely be gone already.

By the way, can anyone inform me since when the CIA is considered part of the military?

While not strictly part of the military, it was established by the same law (the National Security Act of 1947) that created what became known as the Department of Defense.

Of course, even though she is a liar and a thug. Hoyer is even worse though so...

I'm sorry, but I witnessed far too many compelling political dramas where Republicans made asses of themselves in the last eight years and easily survived to think that this one, which Pelosi is fighting back on, is somehow going to kill her career. What exactly has she done that's going to lead to her ouster? She's fighting back, and she's got some strong allies in Bob Graham and Obama. Newt Gingrich and Steve King calling for her ouster is not going to carry any weight in the Democratic caucus.

This is like thinking that "arsenic in the water" was the silver bullet that was going to take down the Bush Administration in 2002.

Actually, having Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh and Steven King to spearhead the movement for her ouster, might strenghthen Pelosi even more among her colleagues.
With enemies like that, who needs friends?

I think there is no doubt she will be speaker, albeit a weakened wounded one.

I just don't see how this particular incident will prevent her from commanding the votes of Democratic representatives on all other issues at least as well as she did before.

I don't know, I feel like this is a Twilight Zone moment where other people live in a world where Pelosi is fatally compromised by this past week's events and I still see an ongoing issue that's largely about someone else and which doesn't take away her huge Democratic majority and widespread support in the caucus.

Mike Huckabee wrote a poem:
http://www.mikehuckabee.com/index.cfm?fa=News.View&News_id=c371ff3b-a8f0-4b8d-a24c-0d0df1a0a047

Here's a story about a lady named Nancy
A ruthless politician, but dressed very fancy
Very ambitious, she got herself elected Speaker
But as for keeping secrets, she proved quite a "leaker."

She flies on government planes coast to coast
And doesn't mind that our economy is toast
She makes the Air Force squire her in their military jets
There's room for her family, her staff, and even her pets.

Until now, she annoyed us, but her gaffes were mostly funny;
Even though it was painful to watch her waste our tax money.
But now her wacky comments are no laughing matter;
She's either unwilling to tell the truth, or she's mad as a hatter!

She sat in briefings and knew about enhanced interrogation;
But claims she wasn't there, and can't give an explanation.
She disparages the CIA and says they are a bunch of liars;
Even the press aren't buying it and they're stoking their fires.

I think Speaker Pelosi has done too much speaking;
And instead of her trashing our intelligence officials, it's her nose that needs tweaking.

If forced to believe whether the CIA and her colleagues in Congress are lying;
Or it's Speaker Pelosi whose credibility and career is dying.
I believe in the integrity of the men and women who sacrifice to keep us safe;
Not the woman who has been caught flat-footed, lying to our face.

I say it here and I say it rather clear-
It's time for Nancy Pelosi to resign and get out of here.

Well if it comes to pass that she is lying or has a very convenient memory loss it's trouble, and brittain, she's made HERSELF the story instead of the real story the story....
