Apocalypse Now   12 (37.5%)
Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark   20 (62.5%)

Apocalypse Now, despite getting a lot of nominations, got destroyed. Raiders of the Lost Ark also proves it has some real strength. The winner of today will have a tough fight on their hands in Round 2.

Silence of the Lambs, by far.  I thought There Will Be Blood sucked.

Sorry, but this forum is dead to me.

(I actually thought both of these were rather over-rated; each has a bunch of cool, memorable, classic scenes punctuating long stretches of mediocrity. I'll take a milkshake over fava beans and a nice chianti though.)

Excuse me, but the milkshake line must be the one of the most lame ones coming from a Best Picture nominee.

Anyway, Silence of the Lambs easily. Hannibal Lecter is my hero.

Damn you for putting two of my favorite movies up against each other.  I am sooooo torn.

Daniel Day Lewis was just golden in "Blood".  But I gotta go with "Lambs."
