Mostly British (English, Scottish and Welsh) with a little bit of dubious Irish (due to orphaning and adoption, it may not be Irish at all) and a little bit of non-dubious Swedish. Last name is very Scottish, by way of colonial South Carolina.

I don't look British, though, or northern European at all. People usually assume I'm Italian or Spanish or Greek or some other Mediterranean. There's no Mediterranean ancestry at all in my family, as far as we can tell.

All from the the island of Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland), except for one odd little line way back (the late 18th century) from Germany that I discovered last year. However the last name was "James" which doesn't sound German at all. That guy was from Oldenburg (sp). Color me confused I guess on that one.

1/8 German (Lutheran/Northern German.  Last name is either Hanoverian or Hessian)
