It's true, summer blows. I basically realized this last year.

-It's too hot.
-Gas prices go higher (starting now, it'll never get to last year's levels, but still), and your vehicle gets worse gas mileage too because the heat causes the gas to thin.
-The landscapes and scenery suck, are boring and non-emo.
-The movies mostly suck. For every Dark Knight and Star Trek you get 10 blockbuster no-brain crapfests and the good filmmakers don't even bother competing, and just wait till December. (Musically it improves though I guess)
-My job gets really busy and stressful.
-People start to act more stupid. I have a theory that warmer temperatures are correlated with stupidity (for another example: People on Spring Break in Florida or Mexico.)

My favorite season is autumn.

Even in college I wasn't so big on summer, since the city would somewhat shut down and not be as active, the campus services also would shut down too and I liked having them around. Also while class wasn't exactly fun and homework and papers weren't fun at all, at least it gave me something to do besides the monotony of wake up-work-occaisonally drink/party/go to a show/strip club-sleep.

Our version of winter is obviously the best.

I don't mind summer too much. Then again, San Francisco is occasionally blessed with cold summers, which are really cool.

Disagree -I don't like the heat and humidity either, but the women out there compensate for it all...

fodo, good looking women are good looking year round.

you need to learn to appreciate women rather than seeing them as eye candy.

No scenery or landscapes? Maybe in Minnesota, but don't let your state drag down the rest.

Summer definately blows. To the reasons, already given I'll add yardwork. Nothing like sweating youa a$$ off, pulling a crappy mower back and forth for an hour.

Disagree because I love summer for the weather, the trips, the free time but it can get a little boring (if you have nothing planned) after awhile.

And mowing your 8 sq. ft. of grass and then hauling the mower through the house to mow the back 'yard'.

I love summer.  It is rarely too hot here with temps almost always in the 70s and low 80s with nighttime temps into the upper 50s.

And we have a lot to do.. camping, swimming, parties, taking naps outside on the hammock, gardening, fishing.. and the long days make it all the better.

Sure they do.  But summer is when they really bloom -and it helps take your mind off the discomfort of a typical Virginia summer.

Goes both ways -unless you seriously think there aren't women out there who don't think the same thing about men when summer comes around.  And FYI -I do appreciate women for who they are...once I get to know them.

No, winter's worse. It's gray, prone to terrible weather, obnoxiously cold at times, and it lasts forever. Also buying presents can be a pain in the ass. There's a reason I tend to get SAD and it's not just the sun.

autumn>summer

... but summer is clearly second.

To be more specific my favorite time of year is late summer/early fall, even though that is when school starts up again.

Absolutely false. Where I live, the weather is abysmal from basically November to April. By May, that sunshine starts looking pretty good. Most of the stuff I like to do is only really feasible in the summer anyway (kayaking, baseball, etc.).

I don't like 100º weather, but 75-90º temps (all fahrenheit, you crazy foreign quoks) are the best.

And I don't know what a quok is so don't ask me.

Disagree overall, but there are definitely parts of summer that really blow.  I miss my college friends, but now I'm working and making real money (instead of $10 per column at the newspaper once a week).

I'm just glad I'll be living Indonesia during the dry season, even if the average temperature will be 90 degrees.
