Like Don, R-Yes, but with some reservations.

But if you live near a major naval base, don't you pretty much live near a nuclear reactor or reactors?  The navy's been doing this safely for decades and so has the country, save one incident.

One incident that didn't actually hurt anybody.

Random Fact:

France is the only non-major-petroleum producing country in the world that is a net energy exporter.  The sole reason being their reliance on nuclear power, which produces enough extra energy to sell to Germany, Belgium, etc.
Nuclear and hydro, actually. Neither of which can be finetuned for demand. So the rest of Europe buys cheap-as-sh!t would-just-go-down-the-drains-otherwise French energy at night and turns their own coal or gas plants off.

Yes (Independent/Other)

I am in full support of using Nuclear Power as a source of electricity.  A vast majority of the fears people have over it are unfounded and it is very safe.  Sure, there is the matter of the waste, but well engineered containment barrels and storage facilities should prevent any mass leakage of dangerous material.  In fact, I would like to see an increase in investment towards nuclear technology, not just in improving the current fission reactor designs but also the development of working fusion reactor technology too.

Of course, I do favour investment into Solar, Hydroelectric and Wind Power too.
