Lots to polls are coming out nationally to state the obvious.  Anybody care to list their top 3 and tell us why?  Some are clearly junk polls too heavy a sample of democrats or republicans.  Here is my list of polling firms reporting national results.

Fox News/Opinion Dynamics
ABC News/WP
ARG
CBS News/NYT
Pew Research
Zogby
CNN/USAT/Gallup
Newsweek
Battleground
LA Times
IBD/TIPP
Time
Marist
CBS News
AP/Ipsos
NBC News/WSJ
Harris
Survery USA
Democracy Corps

This time around:

Pew
Ipsos
Gallup

With a glance at:

OD
Battleground
IBD/TIPP
Marist

State-level, it's Strategic Vision and then a smattering of large sample local jobs.

Well, going by their track record, polls showing Bush in the lead are always worth paying attention to.

Polls showing Kerry has closed the gap, on the other hand, are complete trash and should be ignored.

Being in denial isn't good.  However 6 of the 9 post-debate polls show little or no change for Bush.  3 show big Kerry jumps and could very well be significantly overstated.  They should all show similar trends but since 2/3's don't we are in better shape than I thought

No, I'm serious. Polls showing Kerry in the lead always end up being Newsweek or something.

Don't forget Mason-Dixon.

Also, Field is the grand old man of California polling.

Cheney is killing Edwards in this debate. Anyone think there'll be a Cheney bump?

No; he stabilized the situation for Bush as he has done since 2000 election and his presidency.  The man is as steady a rock as you can find

I have to give props to my man, Rasmussen.  He is the most reliable pollster that there is.  The man rarely screws up and when he does, his mistake is corrected shortly.  I consider Rasmussen Reports to be the only polling company that is reliable and accurate.  And he should be added to the list.  Wink

I like Rasmussen, but that might be because he's one of the few pollsters that even gives libertarians the time of day.  I'd also say Zogby for similar reasons but self-selected online polling was garbage.

I don't trust any polling agency that gets 16 point swing in party ID in 7 days.
