Well it swung more republican, one of five states to do so, and obviously the trend would be more republican, so yeah I agree with the black intellectual from Chicago versus a white war hero from Arizona. Also a little tidbit of information: Obama was the first democrat to win the presidency without Arkansas or Missouri (West Virginia since 1916).
Interestingly enough, McCain's "win" in Missouri keeps decreasing. It's gone from 49.39% to 49.37% compared to Obama's 49.25% to 49.24% lol it was extremely close here but the Republicans turned out more in the GOP strongholds like Greene County (Springfield) and St. Charles County that offset Obama's big wins in St. Louis City and Kansas City, that combined with McCain's margins in the rural areas gave him the narrow edge. We'll be the first state to flip blue in 2012, though, pending of course how popular Obama is, the economy, etc.
Another piece of information: Obama was also the first President, Democratic or Republican, to win the White House without winning the Ohio Primary.
