Lief I like you but I don't agree at all.  States rights has always been a code word for racism and other ugly -isms here so I understand why you feel this way, but regionalism is not a bad thing at all.  Some of the most progressive parties in Europe are very much in favor of regionalism.

More decentralization will lead to the allowance of more minority rights, but is inefficient in times of war and economic disaster. So, I am pretty nuetral on this issue.
