California results make no sense. First of all Arnold won a race for a statewide position, not a federal position. Secondly he ran against Bustamante and Gray Davis first, and then Angelides. Obama is a bit different though, no?

Paul couldn't swing Texas. He would have done worse in RL than McCain.

1:52AM - Let's take a look at the numbers in the remaining toss up stats.

Ohio:

94% Reporting

Schwarzenegger - 49.1% - 2,670,172
Obama - 50.2% - 2,729,993

Texas:

89% Reporting

Schwarzenegger - 48.7% - 3,577,897
Obama - 50.5% - 3,710,140

Iowa:

82% Reporting

Schwarzenegger - 49.6% - 662,324
Obama - 49.8% - 664,995

Colorado:

68% Reporting

Schwarzenegger - 50.4% - 866,552
Obama - 48.9% - 840,762

Oregon:

45% Reporting

Schwarzenegger - 48.2% - 430,476
Obama - 51.3% - 458,162

California:

44% Reporting

Schwarzenegger - 50.2% - 3,147,197
Obama - 49.3% - 3,090,773

We now have something to report. No, it's not a projection, it's a retraction. We are putting Nevada back into the undecided columm. It appears that our projection that Schwarzenegger carried the state is wrong, at least for the moment.

Obama - 198

2:08AM - We can now project that Colorado, and it's 9 Electoral Votes, will go to Senator Obama. This is a big win for him, and it's another blow for Governor Schwarzenegger.

2:32AM - We now have former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani with us.

Brian Williams - Welcome Mayor Giuliani. This is a very close and tense night. What do you make of it?

Rudy Giuliani - Well i'm disappointed by the retraction of Nevada and the call of Colorado for Obama, but i think that Arnold will still win. He appeals to moderates and liberals, as well as conservatives, and even libertarians. He would make a great President, and i'm really hoping that he will be elected today. I don't want to see another 2000.

Brian Williams - We have a big call to make. The state of Ohio will go to Senator Barack Obama. This is huge folks, and it's yet another blow the the Schwarzenegger Campaign. Mayor Giuliani, what do you think of this?

Rudy Giuliani - You know, i was expecting that all along. But i'm still confident that Texas and California will deliver for us.

Brian Williams - Mayor Giuliani, thank you.

Rudy Giuliani - Thank you Brian.

Let's take a look at the Electoral Map.

Schwarzenegger - 203
Obama - 227

2:54AM - Let's take a look at Texas and California, two of the big four battleground states which are still undecided.

Texas:

93% Reporting

Schwarzenegger - 49.4% - 3,872,429
Obama - 49.8% - 3,903,785

California:

68% Reporting

Schwarzenegger - 49.1% - 4,754,092
Obama - 50.2% - 4,860,599

Especially since the top item on America's mind was the Economy, and not the War in Iraq, Obama would be shooting himself in the foot for choosing Paul. All the Ron Paulites still would not warm up to him, and he would lose a large part of his Democratic base.

Also, thinkabouit, Paul refused to even endorse McCain. What makes you think Paul would even consider joining a ticket with Barack Obama?!?

We have another projection. The state of Iowa, for the second election in a row, has voted for the Republican Nominee.

Guys, Texas was going to vote Republican last year, and California was going to vote Democratic last year no matter what. Some crazy Congressman and an unpopular governor weren't going to swing the states.

Anyways, it's possible that Ron Paul might have been the worse VP pick, which is really saying something when you get to debate Sarah Palin.

5:30AM:

We are now projecting that Oregon will go for Obama by a margin of around 10,000 votes.

So it all comes down to Nevada. With 95% reporting, Obama has a lead there of around 2,500 votes.
