At this time, it seems as if we've won this election! We've done it! Thanks to all of you for your incredible turnout and your invaluable support!

This victory tonight is a victory for an experienced realist version of change. This victory is a victory for moderate politics, and a defeat for old ideological dichotomies and party politics. We've done it, we've won. I want to thank all of you for making this possible. Tonight, the vow that I took at the beginning of this campaign - to serve the people of this great region with honour and to fight for this great region - begins. I will put you first, and I'll put my convictions and values first ahead of party politics. As I repeated throughout the campaign, my mission in the Senate is to represent you, and I will strive to do so. I will not lie to you. I will not deceive you.
