As we have a lot of members from the areas covered by the EU, I thought it might be helpful to compile a list of TV channels that are showing the elections.

In the United Kingdom we have (all via Sky Digital and times in CET)
Sky News (Channel 501): 2100 - 0100 Decision Time Europe
BBC News (Channel 503): 2030 - 0000 and 0030 to 0200 European Elections 2009
EuroNews (Channel 508): Starting from 2000 updates throughout the evening covering all 27 nations
TV5 Monde (Channel 799): 1930 - 0000 European Election Night (en Francais)

TVEi (Spain) has been kicked off Sky and DW-TV (Germany) does not appear to be doing anything special.

If you live on the western coasts of the UK, it is possible to get signals from RTE 1 in the Irish Republic (and I shall be recording those as well)

Are the local election results airing at the same time?

The locals are being broadcast on the Friday from 10.00am on Sky News and from 1.30pm on BBC News

When does all of this come to an end? For example, I know Italy (and some other countries) set aside two days to vote and the last day for Italy is next Sunday (June 7th). Is that the very last day for all voting everywhere?

By the way, this ought to be a helpful link - http://wwitv.com/portal.htm - TV channels from around the world with live streaming coverage.

Sunday night is the last day for the entire EU.

I may be wrong, but I don't know of any other countries, besides Itlay, that votes on more than one day.

I think the last polls close at 10pm central European time on Sunday.

Czech Republic votes on two days, too. Same with the land of the swines (if you count voting in their overseas possessions).

Austria's ORF will have a Live-Stream with Exit Polls at 5pm local time on Sunday and commentary from other European Countries like Germany, where polls close 1 hour later.

Probably somewhere around here:

I hope to be blogging, Tweeting and otherwise internetting the result. As a candidate I'll be at a count on Friday but most of the weekend will be spent on line, lol.

Hmm, lemme know, which land has overseas possession in EU? UK, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain...and...France. Right? According to your track record, the last one could be the one you spoke about. Anyway, no matter which one it is, this is so elegant.

Well, here the cover will be very poor on straight national TV channels, a few mins in the evening. The most will be 1 hour on the first public channel (France2), and IIRC this hour will end before the end of voting in EU which is 10 pm. I don't know for our both free news channels.

Well, I dislike Portugal and really dislike The Netherlands and France but I was specifically talking about the last one.  Wink

Benelux

Netherlands

NOS (National public television)

Thursday June 4 2100 - 2400 CET: Dutch results
Sunday June 7 2230 - 2330 CET: European results

Live stream at http://europakiest.nos.nl/live

Belgium

VRT (Flanders): June 7 1330 - 2300 CET (polling stations are only open in the morning, an advantage of compulsory voting). Results of the elections for the Flemish Parliament and the European Parliament (and also the Walloon, Brussels, and Germanophone parliaments)

RTBF (Wallonia): As VRT, but 1500 - 2400 CET.

I was not able to locate a live stream for both these broadcasters.

Luxembourg

RTL

June 7, 1900 - 2400 CET: Results of Luxembourg Parliament and European Parliament elections

Live stream: http://tele.rtl.lu/waatleeft/livestream/

... and French medias don't care about the results as much as they do about "the scoop of the night" and asking retarded questions to party hacks.

The both news channel of our free TV network will make the best cover:

i>télé will rule it from 7h30pm to 0am (local time). And at about 9am there will be Domenach and Zemmour, could be intersting.

BFM TV will also make the whole evening on it.

Is there anyway to get the Euronews results live if you happen to not live in Europe because their website doesn't seem to have any link? Of course it could be too early to provide one.

No idea if it works abroad. If it doesn't try installing Hotspot shield and see if it works.

Good place to watch Italian Exit polls when they are released in 1 hour:

http://www.rai.tv/dl/RaiTV/diretta.html?cid=ContentSet-37f0f5d4-af33-48df-9281-2d46214c1b5d

Select "Diretta RAI News 24". I hope they have Exit polls ...
