I'd like to announce I intend to abstain on the Capital Punishment Abolition Amendment

On one hand, I have serious problems with the state executing an individual, and I see this as an over exertion of power on the part of the government.

On the other, there are some crimes that are so heinous, they deserve punishment by death.

So yeah.

Nope.  The interests of the people require that we fight against incursions on regional power - such as this amendment.  There is no reason why the Northeast shouldn't be able to decide on whether to impose the death penalty on its own.

I find it disgusting that this is having to be prescribed to us by the state, but I also find it disgusting that the state could have the power to execute an individual. Therefore, I cannot bring myself to vote either way.

Fellow citizens, I am sick and tired of the same politics of the past being forced down our throats and I'm sure you are too. Our healthcare system, a quixotic socialist experiment gone wrong, is quite simply not up to scratch. The statists in the JCP are determined to rip up regional rights and replace them with a huge, interfering authoritarian government. I ask of you to vote for me for re-election and help us rid the people of the interfering paternalism of the central government!
