Nay

I too support striking 4.3, and I don't want to just up and call a vote of passage just to get it passed.

Ok? The old 4.3 is gone and there was over 24 hours with no debate after 72 hours of being on the floor. That's how a vote is called.

I realize the terrible Senate rules we have that force legislation along, but what I was referring to was opposing the idea that Physical Education be mandatory, sorry. (It's what happens when I'm sworn in in the middle of legislation, I'm afraid Tongue)

What happened to my amendment to my own legislation from above? I object to the final vote call.

That was completely my fault, I'm sorry. Though we can't really stop the final vote maybe you could write a new bill with that amendment in it and it'll come up right away. Again, I'm sorry.

There is no PPT discretion for these kinds of things? Eh.

Nope, or at least not that I know of.

We really should amend the OSPR to allow final votes to be stopped.

It's only proper in this situation that the PPT bend the rules and cancel the vote, considering he had no right to call for it in the first place. It's what Happy Warrior did the time he messed up, so there's precedent too.

I'm all in favor of banning unhealthy beverages, but I don't think PhysEd should be mandatory, so NAY for different reasons.

It's not going to pass, so I'll vote aye. I don't really care that much honestly. Energy drinks can go, soft drinks....meh. If we want to control what we sell in our schools, that's fine with me.
