Lean No. That's not to say I'd object to them being provided by the government in emergency circumstances though.

No because the vast majority of abortions are not life threatening, and therefore government shouldn't be involved.

Does the government fund most specialty clinics?  I don't believe so.

Abortion would be covered by any reasonable health care plan, including a public one.

As a general rule no, tho I would not be opposed to government run health insurance programs paying for abortions necessary for the physical health of the mother or where the fetus is determined to be unlikely to be viable if carried to term.

Does the government fund most specialty clinics?  I don't believe so.

Again.

Does the government fund, say, dermatologist clinics?  I don't think so.  How about dentists?  I don't see why women's health/abortion clinics would be any different.

This question is a bit funky.  A more controversial thing is what maybe a dozen or so states have done which is require insurance companies to cover abortions for poor people [or forbid state-subsidization for poor people's insurance to cover abortions]

If there is going to be abortion, then yes. It is the poorer women who would suffer otherwise, or those who live in conservative areas. I hate the govt being involved in this kind of area, but I hate inequitable access to medicine more.

Lean No.  Taxing an individual to pay for something against his religion and is not an a substantial state interest is in violation of the First and Fourteenth Amendment. However, like organ modification for the obese, it should be allowed if it is an emergency or criminal situation. However, I would allow state funding for abortion arising out of an unforeseable circumstance...but not federal funding.

The government subsidizing poor people's abortions is not "funding abortion clinics" any more than food stamps are "funding grocery stores."

If anyone in power really believed that, capital punishment would be abolished and we wouldn't be bogged down in Iraq presently.

Food stamps do fund grocery stores, so what is your point?

They do, but that's not the intention of them. They're different from direct subsidies to grocery stores, which would be an equivalent.

This is more nicely worded than what I would have typed, but I agree completely.
