The absentee voting thing is a little bit silly, it's just another voting booth that opens earlier than the "non-absentee" booth.  Why not just have one thread that is open for the entire time period?

That would probably require a constitutional amendment.
I agree though that a simple week long system rather than the current fragmented system would be better.

Is JewishConservative eligible to vote in this election?  You know, the ten-day thing.

     Huh JewishConservative has been registered since June 4th.

What about Gustaf voting twice?  Course he could fix that by deleting one of them...

Yeah I'm not quite sure how to call that one....
Twice within the twenty minutes during which he'd've been allowed to edit, too.

Essentially the same vote too. I'd just count it once.

Is JewishConservative eligible to vote in this election?  You know, the ten-day thing.
Got changed to seven days, didn't it? Anyways, cutoff is calculated from the real voting booth, not the absentee thing.

     Correct, it was changed. Also, this reminds me that once SPC was absent for two months & came back right after the absentee voting booth was opened. He got 15 posts before the regular voting booth opened & was able to cast a valid vote.

Oh, I see...he registered on the 4th in Indiana, then changed that to Montana on the 11th.  Probably just to vote against me.

There should be a law....  Tongue

Ah, there is... if he'd moved a day later, he'd have had to vote in Indiana.

Sorry to pick on you, Earl, but I just noticed another mistake in your voting booth.  It says the election will go on until October:

This election is held in accordance with Article V of the Constitution and with the Consolidated Electoral System Reform Act.  The regular election begins at 11:59 EDT June 18th, and ends at 11:59 P.M. EDT, October 21st.

     I think Barnes's vote is also valid. The voting booth instructions say that you must be a valid registered voter before or on June 11th. As of 10:45 PM EST on June 11th, he had registered in Atlasia & had obtained 25 posts.

No she isn't! She is registered in the state of CA! Her vote for Senate can't count.

Damn!  Sad

Okay, I don't have time to look this up today.  Can someone other than Dan verify DC_united's state of registration?  I gotta get to work.

A curious situation. Did he properly register once he obtained 25 posts? Or does that not matter?

     No. I do not know if there is any precedent for someone registering before reaching 25 posts & then reaching it. I would be inclined to say it counts, as ExplodingClowns's registration was counted, even though he only had 4 posts & never reached 25. I guess that members are allowed to register at any time, but cannot have their votes counted until they reach 25 posts.

If you do it this way the Mideast senate election results are way different.

Number Key:

1= 3 points
2= 2 points
3= 1 Point

Dan: 1,1,1=              9 = 50.00%
KyleGordon: 1,2,2=  7 = 38.89%
Persepolis: 2=          2 = 11.11

Total: 18 100%

Other way

Dan: 3= 75.00%
Kyle Gordon: 1= 25.00%
Persepolis: 0=  00.00%

The first way would equate 3 second preferences with 2 first preferences. That would radically change the system.

Senator Lief has been declared the winner in 7 states, while Senator PiT has yet to win any, but he leads in 8 states. Senator Lief leads in an additional 7 states.

For the record, Senator Lief has been declared the winner of Connecticut, Ohio, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Arizona and Oregon

If only such things mattered. Tongue  I assume states that have been won have had all voters in the state vote already?

More or less.

ETA: Alabama has been called for Senator PiT, his first state.
