My first thoughts was to call this debate a 'draw'.

Cheney certainly did a better job than Bush at defending the administration's Iraq policy. However, Edwards countered much of what Cheney had to say. The fact that Cheney was more able to defend the administration's record, in addition to offering a critique of Kerry, than Bush did last week speaks volumes. Is Cheney the power behind the throne or is he just simply a more capable man than Bush?

Both Cheney and Edwards were very articulate with their own message, which will appeal to their respective base. However, since Edwards outscored Cheney on domestic issues and the economy, much more than Cheney did with Edwards on Iraq, I’m calling the debate, marginally, for Edwards.
