Will anyone who posts regularly on this forum become famous or infamous for any reason? If so, who and why?

I have long held that Naso will go on a random killing spree one day.

Anyone want to mention someone besides themself?

I think Phil could potentially work his way into the PA legislature if he tries. Maybe then he could bust Opebo for running a prostitution ring or something. Wink

Good luck, it's good that we are starting at such a young age. (I'll beat you, though, so don't even try for President)

I 'll never run for  president. I'm gonna run for congress. Then Governor. Then back to congress. Then retire at 77.

A politician who can't act becoming a Congressman who can't write and a Governor who can't direct.

I don't see it.

FWIW, most of us are waaaay too lame to ever be politicians.

That said, I plan to represent Albert Park in the Victorian house for about ten years, from roughly 2022. After that i'm going thinking the upper echelons of the state public service, hopefully involved in transport and infrastructure planning.

Pretty much. There are a couple of posters who have the brains and the ideas necessary, there are a couple who have the articulation, and there are a couple who have the charisma and looks, but the combination of all these is very rare.

Most people on here don't have any of these, I'd wager.

You guys can say whatever you want. But i'm not letting anyone discourage me. You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

If AL Franken  can come so close to winning then I can definitely win

I'm not saying that it can't be done. It can, but the odds aren't very good. It just requires the right person, a lot of work, and a lot of luck.

Franken was already well known before he ran. Completely incomparable to any of us.

But I think we've missed the point of this. There are many other ways besides being a politician to be famous.

I'm not normally a self-booster, but with a little bit of training and a nice suit or two, I think i've got a reasonable shot, particularly if I do a deal with the devil and join the ALP.

I was a successful school politician, for quite a few years; I've lost two straight elections, though, so that may be over Tongue

But yeah, I could see Phil being one of the few that actually does find his way into politics.

Ironically, I think I'm one of the most likely to get out of politics (especially if certain things don't break the right way in a few years).

It's also funny that I was mentioned for the PA legislature. That's not exactly my thing. I do, however, have a friend that will likely run and I'm going to be involved with that.

I think you guys are setting the bar for being a politician waaaay too high. Sure, to be a Senator or a Governor or something you probably need to be great, but to be a random congressman or legislator or mayor or something? I don't think so.

Trust me: you definitely don't need to be a great person to be a state legislator.  You just need to have the right letter next to your name and win a primary.

True. It's still not the easiest thing to do, though, it costs a bit of money, it's and not really the most desirable. Here in Washington, state representatives only make ~$15,000 a year. Not exactly a great living...

Being in politics can take a lot or next to nothing. It varies. Believe me, I've seen it. I've seen people really have to fight for credibility while others are total jokes and you'd have no idea how they got where they are.
