lol, have you ever visited your state legislature and talked to the legislators?  They're all essentially one-issue politicians, except for an elite few.

I'm not saying this is a bad thing.  I'm just saying the country would probably avoid the politician-shortage we have now (and we do, at the local level at least.  just ask Michigan.) if we just took away the veneer of respectability that the legislature has to reveal that politicians are  people, just like us.  Then we'd probably feel more confident running.

Yeah, I work for one.  Tongue

I understand what you mean and, believe me, I know that there are some real clowns but I've always been hesitant to call these people total losers or dopes. It still takes something to get elected and re-elected and to know the basics. It isn't the easiest thing in the world.

I can imagine Robert Stark paying a visit to a Holocaust Museum one of these days.

As a politician?   NO way in hell.    Because most of us have hung ourselves with statements and stances.

Actor maybe  ...

Athlete?  No mostly because from what I've studied nobody is really skilled at sports here.

Killer/Criminal   More likely, although you would never find out who it was anyway unless it relates to something on the forum.

politics is the only thing i know how to do without sucking completely at life. I suck at sports ,singing ,acting ,writing, directing.
If you can't act you can't be a politician.

I was asked to run for a State Senate seat once.  And for an at-large seat on county council.  I had to laugh both times.  I have good ideas, but no "fire in the belly".  I'm also not sure I want anyone rooting around in my past.  Hell, some of the things I have posted in these forums might be enough to doom a budding political career.

You think Obama's association with Jeremiah Wright was damning?  People would say, "You can't vote for JSojourner.  He's on the same forum as BRTD."  That would about do it.  <grin>

I suppose that statistically speaking someone here will probably get 'on the news' at some point, but I'm afraid the killing spree is the most l likely way.  Or it could be quiet long term serial killing rather than a short spree.. or some form of raping or 'molesting'.

Most people really do just function as either cogs in the machine or potential replacement cogs to threaten the cogs.

As if the Brits will ever allow in another Scottish Prime Minister after the mess Gordon's made.

You're more likely to be the First Lady of an independent Republic of Scotland.  Tongue

My sister got lost at Camp Snoopy at the Mall of America because she got all bitchy and didn't wanna leave, so she just walked off.  (She was 6).. so we were all looking for her.  Well, the camera crew for Inside Edition found her first.. they were doing a special on lost children at the mall.

I got in on one of the camera shots... does that make me famous?

Oh, and she got bitchy with the camera crew, in case you were wondering.  The lady asks her "were you scared?"  and she half mumbled "no" and she asks again.. "were you scared" and she's like "NO!" in the bitchiest tone you can think of.  It was great.  I love my sister.

That's something my five year old would do. She's a real ball of fire, a very special girl.

Yea feasible like me becoming the local sheriff, but and statements and or stances/ out bursts on this forum can be used against you.

And ya by then who will remember?   But these things have a odd way of poping up.

He is the mayor of some small city in Illinois, though I can't remember where off the top of my head.  IIRC its somewhere between Chicago and Rockford.
