Edwards — the 2004 vice presidential candidate and onetime frontrunner for an Obama cabinet post — also said he is not ruling out a future in politics.

Up until recently, I would have agreed with this response. Then I learned Newt was apparently in the middle of a divorce battle with his ex-wife before she was diagnosed with cancer so that one doesn't work anymore, guys.

I think we discussed this one, too.

McCain had changed a lot since Vietnam. There were obvious emotional issues. I believe this is relatively common for people that return from the military.

Yah, I'm trying to remember -- was Newt's third marriage the one where he and Callista were registered at Nordstroms?  I can't keep track of them.  I think that was the one where he was banging Callista while he was still married to Marianne (who he dumped the first wife with cancer for).  The whole Callista tryst was going on at the same time Newt was preaching traditional family values and the sanctity of marriage during the Clinton years.

Was it his first marriage where he allotted $400 a month for his ex and $40 a month in support for his two daughters?

Of course, Edwards is a horrible and evil man.  And his arrogance is endless.  Same goes for Newt. Goose, meet gander.

I really don't give a damn about people's bedrooms and public office.  Look, if there's a problem, their wives should simply ditch them - Edwards, Clinton, Ensign, and Gingrich.

I don't get why this is so difficult to understand...

There is more involved than his bedroom life. If he was able to lie so horrifically about this, the man's integrity, in general, is in serious question. That affects how he acts in public life.
