2010 New Mexico Gubernatorial Election by Halstad Strategic Research for the Democratic Governors Association:

Diane Denish (D): 57%
Heather Wilson (R): 35%

Diane Denish (D): 57%
Steve Pearce (R): 35%

The telephone survey was conducted May 31 through June 4, 2009, among a cross-section of 613 New Mexico likely voters in the 2010 general election for governor. The overall results are subject to a statistical margin of error of plus-or-minus 4%.

I would like to see what question framing resulted in 8% undecided over a year before the election.

I thought I remembered seeing another poll about this.

Eh.  I originally thought Richardson returning to the governor's mansion instead of Comm. Secretary was a decision that hurt Denish most of all, but in this economy, it might not hurt to have not had to balance a budget or two before running.

What's that mayor of Albequerque (D), Martin Chavez or something, is he still mildly interested?

Peace and Wilson just came off a vicious statewide primary last year, followed by a decisive drubbing on the part of Pearce in the general, so they could still be hurting from that. It also doesn't help that the NM GOP has collapsed into irrelevance.

Is Val Kilmer still considering a run?
