Suppose that Andrew Johnson, the lone Southerner to stay loyal, decided to run on the Democratic Ticket against President Lincoln in 1864.  How would the election have turned out?

Republican/National Union:
President Abraham Lincoln (Illinois)
Former Senator Daniel S. Dickinson (New York)

Democratic:

Johnson wasn't the only one to stay loyal, not even the only one not from a border state.  Three members of Tennessee's delegation in the House of Representatives stayed loyal and served in Congress until their terms ended in March 1863.
