If Tim Cahill runs (as I hope) I think he'll beat Patrick in the primaries.

Sounds good. Unfortunately this probably does not matter much because Massachusetts is full of liberal Republicans.

The beauty of nominating moderates is that Liberal Republicans will come out and vote for them. Wink. Plus they have likely been in the party for generations and only vote Dem, now, because you guys turned it into the party of Jefferson Davis. Tongue. The GOP was once so strong in MA that it could elect Conservatives from time to time like Calvin Coolidge.

Is it just me or is a 48/51 approve/disapprove rating surprisingly favorable for someone with such crappy poll numbers?

Those are the Favorable numbers not the Approvals. According to the poll only 42% approve of the Job Patrick is doing and 57% Disapprove.

YESSS!!!!!!

Tim Cahill is the man in my book. I'm a liberal on a lot of issues, but this guy is the right guy to lead Massachusetts into the future. However I will say that I'm glad Patrick won in 2006, if only because it helped Axelrod get into the Obama campaign, and thus helping Obama get to the White House.

<<Cahill, a lifelong Democrat who has served as treasurer since 2003, would not comment on his plans, but campaign advisers said he will make the switch at Quincy City Hall sometime this week.

They said the move doesn't necessarily mean he will run against the sitting governor; he has told them he will either campaign for governor or treasurer as an independent candidate. >>

Sure he's not running for governor. And I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale.

Governor Patrick is a good man. Maybe not salt of the earth, but a sincere fellow nonetheless.
