Maybe she's preparing for a Senate run in 2010???

Probably not though. She seems to be someone who cares about her family, and I'm sure she regrets taking the VP slot. She is probably just tired of the media attacking her, and her family. If I had to guess, maybe she'll run for Senate or Governor again in a decade or so.

You mean 2010 or 2014. The answer is no to either race. This woman likes being an executive and it seems that even that has gotten old for her. She doesn't want to be a Senator. Plus, you don't resign this early for a Senate race whether it be next year or five years away.

CNN mentioned a Senate run and then quickly said it was unlikely.

2010 is possible. She'd lose the primary, though.

Sorry, that's what I meant. Actually, I think 2014 could be possible, as most of her kids would be grown up, and she wouldn't face a tough primary challenge.

Well I can do with that. Mitt's the best we got anyways and would probably be the best president we've had so far.

I’m pretty sure she hosted a fundraiser for Murkowski already, so it would be pretty strange for her to primary her.

I’d not rule it out though. She’s a little erratic. It sounds like no one knew this was coming, even her own brother.  Strikes me  as a little strange. Still, I don’t think there’s scandal here. Her speech made it clear she still intends to have a role in campaigning for her vision of America. The early resignation gets me though, so I don‘t think we can rule a scandal out just yet.

Who knows, Maybe she is just sick of being in the public eye. But I don’t think we’ve seen the last of her, for better or worse.

And even if she doesn’t run, I’m not sure this helps Romney. I’ve always thought Huckabee was  a bigger threat to him then Palin, and I think if push came to shove more of Palin’s potential supporters would vote for Huckabee over Romney. It will be interesting to see how this all breaks down.

I kinda hope it's not just a sex scandal, but a Lesbian sex scandal. Imagine what a hypocrite she would be. Then again, it would be tough on her kids.

MSNBC sources say Palin is done with politics for good.

Thank God. She needed to get away for the sake of her family and, as a Republican, I didn't want someone as damaged as she is as the nominee.

2010 is possible. She'd lose the primary, though.

She has no real desire to be a Senator.

No, Huckabee's support was ALWAYS limited to Southern-style Evangelicals hence his primary wins in Iowa, and a handful of Southern states. Mitt Romney has more of mainstream appeal and Sarah Palin drew from that due to her strong national media presence, her "maverickness" (lol), and her establishment support.

Who knows, with the last crazy week? Mike Huckabee could be involved in some crazy scandal.
Honestly though, I don't think Huckabee is going to run. He's happy on Fox News, where everyone worships him. I think Romney will end up winning like Gore won in 2000, for their parties nomination. Romney has an edge in all leadoff states. Sarah Palin was the only person who I thought could pose a huge threat on Super Tuesday. It would have been nice though, for a 3 way race between Palin-Romney-Huckabee.

I find it hilarious that people think this is basically crowning Romney the nominee. If anything, more anti Romney candidates have reason to emerge!

Romney isn't a Neocon, SPC!!    You damn libertarians just love to give me an ulcer, don't you. Smiley

In terms of the delegate math this helps Romney cause he can again roll up those Western Caucusus like MT, ND, and NV again. Huckabee now has no competation in the South except from Gingrich and any third tier candidates. Huck will also roll up the Evangelical vote as well. Romney should definately have his attention on Huck primarily but also on Pawlenty(eats into Northern base), and John Thune(Steal western states like the Dakotas, Nebraska, MT and Wyoming which Romney needs).
