Actually, I'm the No vote. Graf von Stauffenberg was perfectly willing to support Hitler as long as he was winning.  Granted, he did think the Nazis went too far, but all in all he was quite the German hypernationalist. Only once Hitler started losing did he consider plotting against him.  He was hardly an angel, just not as bad a devil as Hitler. Under the Graf, the Germans would have been a gentler and kinder Master Race.

I agree with what Ernest said, Stauffenberg was quite an opportunist despite his heroic attempt to kill Hitler.

Under his friends, actually - he wasn't intended to lead the government.

But yeah, this was basically a coup within the Reich's leadership.

Well, of course it was quite a bit more direct and brutal over there, but what happened to most Eastern European Slavic immigrants to the US?  As far as honkeys go, a disproportionate number of those bo-hunks are living in trailer parks and slums... blue collar dead ends...
