Is it unpatriotic to eat "ethnic food" on the 4th of July?

Do those who eat enchiladas or pasta or general tsao's chicken or falafel on the 4th of July hate America, you think? Or do they only hate the government of America, while believing in the country's ideals?

Kind of like, after 9/11, when Castro offered condolences to the American people, but not to the American government. I bet he won't be eating hotdogs and potato salad tonight.

I know this really isn't a serious topic but of course not (not Harry).

I'll be having pasta and eggplant parmesan for lunch. I'm not doing it "on purpose;" it's just that that's what was made and I have leftovers. In the evening, I'll be going to a good, old American BBQ so maybe this maybe that can be my redemption.

I wonder if it's unpatriotic to even think of other countries today...

I consider it extremely unpatriotic to lower the defintion of one's "patriotism" to whether he eats hot dogs or waves a flag.

Of course not.  Fake patriotism is worse than hate for patriotism.  One doesn't need to eat an apple pie and blow up explosives assembled by 9 year old Chinese girls to be a patriot.  One of the greatest things about America is the "melting pot".  Nearly every culture on the planet is represented here and we get to sift through all of it, picking the best from each and making it our own (after putting the old American twist to it...see Chinese food).  I understand many may not like that American twist, and hey, that's cool.  Which is another great thing about America, you don't have to eat what I eat or dress like me, we can still be buds.  Or not.  And if it really goes against your grain, nobody is stopping you from shopping your abilities elsewhere.  And yes, these facts are true in most places in the world, thanks to good people everywhere who have stood up to tyranny in the  past and stand up tyranny today.

So if you want to eat a taco to celebrate America, awesome!  If you want to praise Allah for America, knock your socks off.  If you want to buy and burn an American flag in your backyard, good for you. If you want to take a nap and treat it as a normal Saturday, great.

No, it's not unpatriotic... though I usually eat carnival food on the 4th... Indian Tacos being the best part.  What's more American than taco ingredients on a piece of fry bread that Native Americans pretty much adopted when the U.S. government gave them lots of flour and oil and not much else.
