I think Sanford will finish out his term.  The media seems to be looking at other things now, and he's dropped off in terms of coverage.

Sanford should make it to at least January 2010 when the General Assembly gets back in session since that would be the soonest he could be impeached without a special session.  He might choose to resign after the gubernatorial primary and probable runoff in June 2010, but I can't see him doing so sooner.

Sanford isn't going anywhere.  by early 2010 the scandal will be a humorous footnote in our collective memory.  he'll just epitomize lame duck is all.
