I will be running for the at-large seat as the RPP will field another candidate in the Mideast race.  Expect a campaign speech shortly announcing why I have decided to return and what I plan to accomplish in my next term.

Don't quite know what, but this place has really gone to hell while I have been gone and its time some life comes back

Has it now?
IMO it has.  I know a lot of people like this mundaneness that seems to be running rampant.  A political campaign here and there that generates some interest.  But I want some old rivalries back, some actions that make people really want to be a part of this.  I used to run on a platform of wanting to bring energy to the game that is was lacking, but now I just want to get the same old people excited again.

I mean afterall even the PiT/HW ticket was my brainchild

Don't think I didn't know how to compromise, I was in fact a master at it as some of my later bills showed.  I just didn't back down to anything as many do now

I agree.

DWTL, do you agree with me that these proposals to end Regional Senate seats are insane? If they want to create a Council of Governors fine, but leave the Regional seats alone.

Not a chance.  I support the same proposal I have always supported, either CoG with veto power if 4/5 agree or using them as an upper house

I support regional representation and everything, but we don't need to increase its power.

If a "Council of Governors" were to be created, then I would personally advocate adopting a completely at-large election system for the Senate.

I also wouldn't mind a bi-cameral system in which the regional governors...or people that they nominate...form an "upper house" of some sort.

I just don't think it's really fair to add some sort of regional representation while keeping the Senate the way it is.

Well my ideal plan would require something during the ConCon

CoG + 10 seats
3 Regionals in Feb and Aug
3 At-Large in Apr and Oct
4 At-Large in Jun and Dec

But I like the idea of a CoG when its powers are simply veto with a 4/5 vote

I agree with Franzl. I find the idea of a Council of Governors abhorrent (Governors alread have a role; as governors) but should one be introduced, regional Senators would have to be abolished.

Well I don't oppose the CoG per se. The role of governor today is largely irrelevant...and personally, I wouldn't have any interest in becoming Governor.

And if we truly went to an entirely at-large Senate, that'd contribute to making Senate elections more interesting, and also add an interesting element to the game by having legislation pass through two hurdles.

My concern would be having a CoG above the Senate. I would prefer a lower house passing bills up.

Why because it increases the power of the Regions?

I am sorry Down but I can't support those proposals, I am 100% against reducing the number of Regions.

CoG + 10 Senators(Half Regionals, Half National), I will compromise on anything else long before I will compromise on this.

Make them equal in powers.
