No, not really so far.

Only the coffins at funerals.

It's hard to make it to 36 without seeing a few dead people.  It's a bit creepy as a kid, but you get used to it.

(not like I'm mentally ready to be an EMT or anything)

From afar, but not up close.  I really don't like open casket things...just creepy.

Anyone who has been to a history museum should have seen one...

Of course, if you are referring to seeing someone die right before your eyes, well obviously not.  And this would go for the overwhelming majority of us.

My grandfather had an open casket. I didn't even know it was happening until we got to the memorial service. Odd to say the least.

I've seen the skeletons of two long dead saints... one in the Abbey church at my university and one at a church in Melk, Austria.

I've seen people embalmed in the casket, but that is as close as I've come to a dead person. I haven't stumbled upon a dead person in my lifetime though.

I refuse to answer on the grounds...

hehe, just kidding.  I have seen a few laid out on the pavements after accidents, mostly here.  I think open caskets are cool though.

Most recent would be when the man in the bed directly opposite me died. That would have been about a month ago.

Of course I have.  Strangely enough, some of them still post on this forum.

I'm not 100% sure. There's been one or two incidents where homeless people who were probably crack/heroin addicts (because they were near the needle exchange) who looked dead.. I didn't stop and stare because the authorities were already there and a few on-lookers. So, nobody up close but undoubtedly from a distance.

No. I've also never been to a funeral, and I've visited a graveyard twice.

Yes.  A number of them at funerals, including my father and my best friend.

But I can't think of any I have seen prior to them being handled by a mortician.  (Lots at crime scenes and fires but they were always removed from the premises in closed body bags.  And even if I had been in a visual media, I would never have wanted to exploit a tragedy by taking pictures or video.)

His last name wasn't Rockefeller per chance?

Yes.  I purposely saw a dead body, pre-wake, and I wish I hadn't.
