Phil didn't make either of them up, but he certainly has cornered the market on their usage on the forum.

Phil is nothing but a product of our consumerist crypto-fascist society, run only by business interests intent on oppressing the working man and woman.

Just joking Wink

Assclown is funnier.

Hmmm...I never thought I made them up. That being said, I never remember hearing them anywhere else.  Tongue

I've heard assclown used very occasionally in real life. And I was hearing asshat online before I was ever here.

Either way asshat has always been my favourite.

Actually, on second thought, I've absolutely heard this one frequently. I've also heard asshat every so often. I guess what I don't remember is exactly when and where I heard the terms and who was saying them (besides when I say it).

I've never used either term in real life... nor had I ever heard them before the forum.  I mostly use the term "idiot" or "dumbass", or if I'm being really sarcastic "dipsh**t"

I prefer assclown, though both kinda sound ridiculous.

I belive I brought assclown into general use on the forum, in particular, with my Assclown of the Month award, which alternated between King and Harry.

Ah, yes, this is true! I knew there had to be some English influence.

Assclown originated from the movie Office Space, while asshat came from Fark.com.

Really? I've never seen the movie or visited the website.  Smiley

Fair enough.  Although, I've never read Othello, but have used the term "foregone conclusion" before.  Smiley

Yes, he is, but then so is every last one of us on this forum.

I like both very well.  Asshat gives me the image of someone putting his ass on someone's head, which is of course a major fetish and also very taboo here in Thailand.  Assclown gives one the titillating image of someone 'clowning' with another's ass.. have to admit thats a habit of mine.

I wonder how fashionable an asshat would be.

I remember somehow my signature was mysteriously changed to an image reading "Harry is a fuckwit" or something like that, but I never figured out how you did that.
The image that you were using was hosted on my website server at the time. To annoy you, I simply replaced the image with the Harry is a F*wit poster (emblazoned on a Naso Whistle Award no-less)

How about "child", "Adlai", "horse's ass" or the hundred other terms of abuse he throws about regularly?

"Adlai" is reserved for one member in particular.  Wink  I don't think I ever used "horse's ass" here. Actually, I'm pretty sure I never have. I know people that use it regularly and I can't stand it.  Tongue

"Child" is a favorite, though.
