And my first election, the municipal primary on August 18th, features the following exciting contests:

- Port of Tacoma Commissioner, Position No. 1
- University Place City Council, Position No. 1
- Tacoma School District No. 10 Director, Position No. 2 (a super-exciting six-way slugfest!)
- Fire Protection District No. 3 (University Place), Proposition No. 1 and No. 2

Be jealous

Did you see Rickman's voter pamphlet statement? It's almost as if she's trying to lose re-election.

And I'll be poll voting this once and then switching to absentee once I depart for college. I figured it may be the only chance I get in a very long time so I might as well take advantage of it.

Which is a-OK with me!

I actually forgot she was running, that's how little I'm considering voting for her.

Good call.  Heard anything about polling places in November?  I've heard distinctly conflicting reports.  Apparently The Forces at Be are conspiring to eliminate them more quickly than they're letting on.

Of course, some of this comes from pollworkers, who sometimes are batsh**t crazy.

Shabro, the County Council and McCarthy will never vote to get rid of them/support getting rid of them. They're here to stay barring a direct order from the State Legislature.
