Beastie Boys
...
Tool (I don't know much about them, but "The Pot" is an awesome song.)
Coldplay
The Ting Tings
MGMT (Again, don't know much about them, but "Electric Feel" is a good song.)
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs (I know "Maps" from playing Rock Band and that song is horrible.)

I've never heard of any of those other bands.

I've heard a couple of songs by Coldplay that I didn't care much for, but I have never heard anything by any of those other bands.

You've never hear anything by Tool?!?

No. I have heard of Tool, but I know nothing about them.

Christ, I thought you were a metal-head who liked The Beatles... and you aren't yet listening to Tool? Download now.

So they're kind of like Type O Negative? That's pretty cool.

Eh, not really, at least not in my opinion. They are progressive metal meets psychedelic rock. They were more of a straight up metal band when they started (or at least "alternative metal") but they have evolved a lot through the years. They have also produced some of the weirdest and creepiest music videos of all time. Check them out.

I'm listening to Schism now. It's a far cry from Type O Negative's iconic Prelude To Agony, but it is pretty good.

Yeah, I love that song, and it will only grow on you over time.
