So I went to look up the history of Libya because of the Italo-Turk War thread.  Twenty minutes later I'm reading about Viking Explorers and never finished reading about Libya.  According to the back button, this is the trail:
Libya
Italo-Turkish War
Dodecanese
Russia
Foreign relations of Russia
Russian -UK relations
Richard Chancelor
Archangel
Bjarmaland
Ohthere of Hålogaland

Am I ill or is this (kind of) normal?

(feel free to use this thread to bitch about wikipedia too)

Yeah, I find myself wanting to look up other interesting things that are mentioned in my original Wiki search. There's just too much information out there. I find myself overwhelmed at times.  Tongue

Oh yeah, I could spend hours or days on Wiki. One of my favourite things to look up are failed proposals for punctuation. Some of them are positively fascinating....others are really dumb.

One of my favourite games is wikilinking - start by clicking random page, and then find your way to a designated page.

For example, if random page comes up as 'Doris E. Day', and you're aiming for 'Azteca Stadium', the links could be:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doris_E._Day
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1908_Summer_Olympics
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympic_games
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_Summer_Olympics
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estadio_Azteca

The links must come from the articles, not from the tables at the bottom. Sometimes it can take 20-30 articles, but it's always eventually possible.

That's nothing.

Try going from a backup shortstop on the Baltimore Orioles to the yalta conference.

True story.

Back to the original question, I do it all the time, though I use new tabs instead of just clicking.  I'll end up with 10 or more tabs open, none of them completely read.

It's more fun when you have a race.
