I have some friends/talk to some foreigns and I noticed that instead of typing, "Hahahaha..." they type "Ahahaha..."

I know it's a minor difference but I found it interesting that it's always done that way with them. Anyone else notice this? Is it an accent thing?

Yeah but I'm talking all the time. I don't think I have ever seen them type it "Hahaha..."

ahahahahaha in practice would sound obnoxious and cackly or really fake.  Kinda like a fake laugh without the obligatory sigh at the end.

When I do the dramatic multi-syllable laugh it is always:

Bwahahahahahaha...hahaha!

You need that initial "bwa" syllable for the "evil overlord" effect which is the only reason I ever bother with a multi-syllable laugh.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

What should I do tonight?  Take over the world perhaps?

The point is that they start it with an "A" instead of an "H." The length isn't the point.

Well, maybe that's just how they interpret the laugh, like we say "cockadoodledo" and people in Germany say Kickarikee or something like that.

I haven't noticed it.  Are we talking about all foreigns, or just those whose first language isn't English?

Bingo

I think it's an accent thing. Of course Italians will add an "A" in front of it as I'd imagine Germans to do something like "Z-hahaha!"

Germans don't have any kind of equivalent though, as they don't have a concept of humor.

Maybe a thing with Latin languages?

Frankly, I don't know, even if I should.

Yeah, I've noticed it. I don't think there's anything obvious like there is for foreigners puting spaces in front of question and exclamation marks.

Have you ever noticed I sometimes type '555+' for 'hahaha'?  Did I ever explain it?  If not, can you?
