A Now Much Needed Law Bill

1. It shall be a crime in Atlasia to post a swastika or any other Nazis symbol that has come to symbolise deep meanings of hate and racism, in Atlas Fantasy Elections or Atlas Fantasy Government Boards.

2. The penalty for posting such a symbol shall be a two month ban from voting and a four month ban on holding office.

This is an infringment on free speech, we can't ban a symbol from being posted.  We simply ignore it and if the mods determine it was done in hate they can delete it

I strongly oppose this bill, mainly because it violates our freedom of speech.

 I was on a forum once, where they banned Hitler quotations, since a few members had one. It led to a huge revolt, and everyone was unhappy.

I will veto this bill if passed. Free speech is meaningless if it only protects the speech we like.

I too oppose this bill. I have no love for Nazi imagery or any other form of nonsense, but banning it does infringe on our freedoms.

Considering the broad opposition to this bill I will withdraw it from consideration. I didn't realise that so many here would consider it a violation of Free Speech as just like in the real world you are free to say what you like but there are consequences when you act irresponsibilty.

Not that it matters right now, but I would also oppose such legislation because of its impact on free speech. No matter how hateful something is, I will defend your right to say it, write it or post it.

Of course I despise swatstikas...but that is not relevant here.
