Al Gore went into the debates with a 5 point lead and came out trailing by 5 points a ten point swing.

Clinton left office with 67% approval ratings, if he campaigns for Gore, Gore wins easily.

Ike didnt campaing for Nixon either, in fact he kinda mocked him and probably cost him the election.

lol remember when he just walked up behind bush during the town hall debate, and everyone was like whats he doing and  bush looked over his shoulder gave him that nod and kept talking
