Behold, "Federalism" at work.

It is time for a new strategy.

Word. Federalism is awful. What little good it does is far out-weighed by the bad.

Yes, because you're a statist.

And you're a Statist once-deferred: better, for you, that tyranny is centered in your backyard, than freedom in Washington.

I am for the individual man, and neither Washington nor Springfield has the right to deny to man his basic rights.

Sometimes I think there is a God, because He spared me from having to live in Texas. It is not my favorite state in any way, shape or form, although I might barely tolerate Austin.

I saw 3 books at Border's today that were right wing wet dreams on history.

I wish I could remember the title of the one I read several years ago -- a friend loaned it to me to "set me straight".

Evidently, the Indians and the Africans were blessed by God to have encountered white, Christian Europeans.  Before the white man, they were cannibals who ate their babies, devil worshipers, practicioners of human sacrifice, constantly at war with each other, sexually deviant and scarcely one step away from being cavemen.  The book further stated that these "mud peoples" were responsible for slavery and their own suffering.  The White man came as friends, liberators and evangelists and were brutally massacred for their altruism.

I suspect even the repugnant Peter Marshall didn't go quite this far.
