So long as they don't try to touch me. Or talk to me. Or look at me.

The question is offensive, of course.

From whence comes the dislike of poors?  Well, in some cases its a natural fear - when we have victimized someone, wear fear he may try to retaliate.  But more commonly - for the working class person - it is a fear of the removal of the delusion that we are not poor.

I've known a lot of poor people so of course I don't like them.  The only people that like poor poeple are poor people and non-poor people that have never met a lot of poor people.

I have lived among them, worked with them and worshiped with them over the years.  And while I do not live in a "poor" neighborhood now, it is pretty working class and is surrounded by ghetto.

I have also lived, worked and worshiped with the wealthy.

Pretty much, I have found that people are people.  I know rich assholes and I know poor assholes.  The only difference I have noted is that the African -American poor I have encountered have (my experience, purely anecdotal here) been almost unfailingly more friendly, accepting and generous than Caucasian poors or riches.  There've been one or two exceptions, but I feel I am blessed to live among and near some of the nicest folks anywhere.

Hide the poors so we can't see them.

I'm a libertarian, so everybody tells me that I hate them. That's not true though - I just want them to suffer, that's all.

And the government that has enslaved them for generations on welfare loves them?

Pretty much my opinion, minus the worshipping part.

I don't dislike poor people. I don't dislike anyone because of the financial status.

Certainly there are poor people whom I like and whom I don't (and likewise for non-poors), but I will address the general concept:

While there are negative characteristics disproportionately common among the poor, this has more to do with the fact that poverty is correlated with certain educational and cultural exposures (or lack thereof), than simply a direct cause or effect of being poor.

I feel neither like or dislike towards abstract groups of people.

Most people I know who happen to be 'poor' (really no-one if you counting by world standards, I'm only talking of local standards here... and that I suspect is true of nearly everyone here with the possible exceptions of Lewis and Al) seems quite all right individuals to me and I certainly wouldn't consider them particularly 'different' or anything. Usually either unlucky or don't have the sort of personality that leans towards 'success' in a modern economy. But what can you do?

Outside of familiar members, I honestly don't know how wealthy the people I interact with are. For that matter, I don't particularly care.

Depends on how poor they are.  I don't like them if they are so poor that they've been starving themselves, but if they have just enough money as to be able to afford plenty of junk food to fatten them up so that they are well-marbled instead of tough and stringy, they go quite nicely with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
