I have yet to see opebo as a Republican to begin with.

I remember Blue Opebo.

But more importantly, no.

However, I've probably read a few of his posts as I did guest lurk for info in the early 2004 era of this board.

I do - he was once one of my favorite posters.  I remember making a "what-if" election map with him winning all the conservative states.

I wasn't around for him but I've read a couple of threads that he posted in.

It may be that opebo, whom I like a lot, and enjoy, and have this odd "connection to," cannot be what I think I can only be - a moderate!  He may swing both ways, but does not slow down as he traverses - at all.  Smiley

The man who loved Pinochet and supported gunning down striking workers? Sure, I do.

Or perhaps one should rather say: the man who was still getting money from his parents. I remember him too.

Thanks buddy, but I do consider myself a moderate at present.  My understanding of the world was thoroughly Marxist both when I was Blue and now that I am Red, I just had different ideas about what to do about it.

You have, in spite of your larger delusions, honed in on the nutshell of this particular matter, Gustaf.  Essentially being a right-wing is to be attached to the teat of privilege.  Once one is detached, it does almost immediately occur to one to have a look at things from the perspective of the oppressed, since, all of a sudden, one is one of those!

Of course - you are not a very psychologially complicated character, after all.
