Obama, but Palin would win in this scenario since Ventura would split the vote with Obama.

Sarah Palin.
Actually, if Ventura did run 3rd party, and if Obama's approval rating isn't about 50%, Palin might have a chance at winning.

I'd have to have a lobotomy prior to giving a presidential vote to Sarah Palin. With Jesse Ventura, here is a man now living in Mexico who, I believe, has left American politics. With a disdain for the dreck that is the Republican Party, and a belief that we have the right man in office now, I'd take pleasure in re-electing 44th President of the United States Barack Obama.

Palin and Ventura most likely would split the GOP vote and Obama would dominate the election.

Considering what Ventura has said about Bush, no freaking way he gets any GOP votes.

I'll have to disagree. Ventura's main appeal would most likely be to Libretarians. Most Libretairians vote for Republicans in presidential elections.

I have never seen any evidence that Libretarians would like Bush (quite the opposite) so I don't think Ventura's critisism would do him any harm in that category.

That's not what I was saying. I was saying he won't get any votes from REPUBLICANS.

Actually you didn't. You said he wouldn't take any GOP votes, and since Libreterians voting for Ventura would most likely otherwise vote GOP, he would in fact take GOP votes.

If Ventura was successful in stealing Libretairian voters that might split the GOP vote in some Libretairian prone states like Montana and the Dakotas, which would then be won by Obama.

You do realize that GOP stands for Grand Old Party, aka Republicans right?

A libretarian reguarly voting for the Republican candidate is still a Republican/GOP vote even if that person do not consider himself a Republican.

And I was under the impression that GOP stod for Giggly Old Polarbears, so I'm very glad you told me the real meaning. I had no idea before.

If you're saying that no conservative Republicans will vote for him, then I understand and agree. However Ventura running would hurt the GOP candidate more than it would hurt Obama.
