Let assume that instead of Lieberman, Gore picked:

Governor Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire

Senator Bob Graham of Florida

Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana

Former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell of Maine

or

Former Senator Sam Nunn of Georgia

How effect would have each running-mate?

I can't see Bayh affecting the outcome of the election at all. Nunn and Graham would both bring seniority to the ticket. Graham would probably allow Gore to carry Florida, and Nunn would probably bring Georgia into play and help Gore grab Florida, too. So Nunn is probably the best bet.

What about Shaheen? She'd probably help to deliver bery close New Hampshire and this would be enough, of course if Gore lose Florida, to win electorally

Perhaps, but I think Shaheen would be seen as a light-weight compared to the other possible picks. Both Nunn and Graham have more respectable records.

Unfortunatelly, Graham is a very, very and once again very dull campaigner. Still, his popularity in Florida would swing this close state

I agree Shaheen would certainly be a lightweight, however, her presence on the ticket may have been able to swing New Hampshire to Gore, and thus the election, providing Gore won all the other states he actually did win.  Shaheen may be a drag on the ticket elsewhere.  The Republicans could use her as another examply why Gore should not be President, that he picked someone so obviously unqualified to become Vice President and even more unqualified to become President.

Perhaps using the lightweight Shaheen argument would be enough to cost Gore his wins in Iowa 0.31%, New Mexico 0.06%, Oregon 0.04%, Wisconsin 0.29%.  I also believe that Cheney would demolish her in the Vice Presidential debate.

Graham may have made the difference in Florida, giving the state to Gore.   His pull elsewhere would be no greater than Lieberman's.

Bayh would not have delivered Indiana, and would not have been as influential as Lieberman on the ticket, with Lieberman's appeal to Jewish voters in Florida.

Gore won Maine anyway, and Mitchell would not be influential in winning Gore anymore states than he actually did win.

I very much doubt Nunn delivers Georgia for Gore, given the fact Bush won Georgia by a margin of 11.69%, a tough margin to overcome, even with a native son on the ticket.

Shaheen or Graham would deliver their home states, and Gore would win.
Bayh and Nunn might piss off the base even more than Lieberman, causing more Nader votes, but that's difficult to really call.
I guess Gore would narrowly lose with Mitchell.

well the same is true of Lieberman. You're right however that Graham would probably have swung Florida, thus giving Gore the election.

If I recall correctly, Gore's final shortlist was ...

Joe Lieberman
John Edwards
John Kerry

In the prior round, Evan Bayh, Jeanne Shaheen, and Bob Rubin were on the list.

Earlier, George Mitchell, Dick Gephardt, Dianne Feinstein and Bob Graham were all considered.

I don't have a lot to add, except that I think Bayh was ultimately not selected because of the feeling that (a) he wouldn't swing Indiana and (b) he was too similar to Gore - both were the sons of former senators, both were centrist DLC leaders, both went to St. Albans, and both were fairly dull campaigners.

My take:

Shaheen - Without any change, Gore wins as she delivers NH
Graham - Florida for Gore and thus win
Nunn - Might help in Florida, but I don't see Georgia going Democratic. On the other hand his more conservative views could piss liberals and threw more of them to Nader
Bayh - a walking joke Tongue
Miller - The same as Nunn
Mitchell - A great guy but unappealing as a running-mate
Edwards - as in 2004, a overrated fauilure
Kerry - might help with dissatisfacted liberals

What about Almight Mark Warner? (a joke Wink)

1st choice Jeanne Shaheen
2nd choice Bob Graham
3rd choice John Edwards

Joe Lieberman should of been shelved and put as a cabinet post.

Jeanne Shaheen would of helped Gore out in NH.
Jeb Bush was pretty fresh face in FL so Bob Graham would of had a harder time.
John Edwards obviously for OH.
