* = Incumbent O'Malley (D) still has a slight lead over Ehrlich (R) By: Mark Warner 08 (I-AUT) - 2006-09-24 @ 06:41:10 Question: I have just a few questions about the Maryland elections this year. First, if the general election for Governor were being held today and the candidates were (rotate): [(Bob Ehrlich and Kristen Cox, the Republicans), or (Martin O’Malley and Anthony Brown, the Democrats)], for whom would you vote? O’Malley/Brown 49 Ehrlich/Cox 42 Undecided/Other 9 Question: Well, do you lean towards one of the candidates? (Read and rotate): [Ehrlich or O’Malley]? O’Malley/Brown 2 Ehrlich/Cox 1 Undecided/Other 6 Poll Demographics About this Poll Potomac completed a total of 815 telephone interviews statewide, September 15 – 18, 2006, among a random sampling of likely-voting Maryland registered voters. According to customary statistical standards, the statewide sample produces a margin of error of no more than ± 3.5% at a 95% confidence level. This means that, 95 percent of the time, the “true” figure would fall within this range if every likely voter in the state had been interviewed. For smaller subgroups of the overall sample, the potential sampling error is larger. For example, the sub-sample of 145 African-American voters has a potential margin of sampling error of ± 8.2%.
