SurveyUSA interviewed 800 California adults 10/15/08 and 10/16/08, in interviewing conducted entirely after the 10/15/08 presidential debate. Of the adults, 710 were registered to vote. Of the registered voters, 615 were determined by SurveyUSA to have already voted or to be likely voters in the 11/04/08 general election. California has 55 Electoral College votes. John Kerry carried the state by 10 points in 2004; Al Gore carried the state by by 12 points in 2000. Early voting begins in California today, 10/6/08.
