About this Poll
Romney led his Republican competitors in polls conducted this week by the Capital Survey Research Center, the polling arm of the Alabama Education Association. Romney had 28.5 percent of the vote, Gingrich had 25.5 percent, and 21.1 percent of those surveyed chose Santorum. About 4.5 percent of those polled said they would vote for Paul.

More than 20 percent of those likely voters surveyed responded they did not know, did not reply or would vote for someone else.

The research center conducted the poll of 554 likely voters from Tuesday through Thursday. There is a margin of error of 4.2 percent.
